Being an artistic advocate for the great outdoors is what TypeHike is all about. It is a collaborative, non-profit poster design project that supports and celebrates nature through the art of typography. Partnering with the Kansas City Art Institute, UMKC recently brought TypeHike to campus.
Created by David Rygiol and James Louis Walker, both illustrators and designers, the project was built on the belief that artists must be obligated to use their creative abilities to make the world a more beautiful place.
A collection of TypeHike posters are being showcased at the UMKC Gallery of Art through Nov. 17.
